Fractured Time

Fractured Time was my first major step into the world of level design. It was interesting creating a puzzle platformer because you constantly have to think about what you were testing the player on. While creating this game, I was able to understand how a level designer truly takes the player on a journey and gives them the tools they need along the way. The game had three major functions. Jumping, freezing objects, and switching between the present and the future. Due to the time-travel function I essentially had to make two levels each time creating quite an interesting challenge. The basic story was that you are a robot made to manipulate time, but you bugged out and when to far forward. Now you have to escape the factor or be destroyed. I also got to do a lot of environmental story telling by adding destroyed robots all over the place in the future. I learned a lot about the responsibilities of a level designer and about drawing out comprehensive layouts.
